Know What Causes Pigmentation on Face and Its Remedies

Nowadays, every woman wants to look beautiful with her glowing skin and good hair. If she gets something unusual on her skin, she feels embarrassed and stressed. Because only outer looks are valued in today's world.  

While most people believe that skin pigmentation is only an external problem, you must be shocked to know it is also an internal issue.   

You must be disheartened after spending a lot of money after visiting a dermatologist and using the products it recommends to correct skin pigmentation. However, if the dermatologist only treats you externally, the skin pigmentation may return, which I’m sure you must be experiencing.  

A large number of ladies have joined me in my mission to reverse pigmentation. They had dark spots on their faces that had faded to 90%.

What is Skin Pigmentation on the Face?  

Skin pigmentation is a common issue that causes brown or grey patches of skin to form on the face. Melasma is another word for the pigmentation on face

Melasma is caused due to the excessive production of melanocytes, the cells in our bodies that produce Melanin (an amino acid that gives colour to our skin.)   

You must be wondering what makes us Indians different from foreigners. The answer to your question is that we Indians have more melanocytes. 

Let us now take a look at how the melanocytes in the body get overactive and produce extra darkness in our skin.   

Reasons for Pigmentation on Face 

  •  Excess Insulin 

When we consume rice, chapati, or any high carbohydrate diet with little protein and fat, our bodies create excessive insulin.  As a result of increased insulin in the body, these melanocytes, or cells that produce darkness, multiply quickly and become active, forming pigmentation on face. [1] Eating Low Carb and High Fat diet for pigmentation on face is one of the ways you can reduce excessive insulin. 

  • Estrogen Dominance 

If you have facial hair, acne, or extreme pain before your periods, you are struggling with estrogen dominance. Melasma is typically caused in women by estrogen exposure. The hormonal fluctuation that occurs before you are entering into menopause may cause excessive estrogen levels which may result in melasma. [2]  

We can treat Estrogen dominance by consuming cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower, and broccoli two-three times a week because they contain a compound called DIM (Diindolylmethane) which helps in processing bad estrogen.  

 

 

 

Another way to treat Estrogen dominance in the body is by working on the liver. Detox Your Liver because it helps in curing the bad estrogen in the body. You can detox your liver by taking Liver Detox as it contains Milk Thistle and is known to prevent skin cancer and skin problems like acne, dark patches, wrinkles, and pigmentation. Milk thistle has anti-aging characteristics that make it ideal for reducing visible signs of aging. [3] 

  • UV Rays 

When the sun's rays fall on our faces, our skin produces damaging cells. Our body has its own defence system to fight damaged cells produced by the visible light of the sun on your skin, but as you get older, especially after the age of 30, and because of hormonal fluctuations, your inner defence mechanism slows down.   

Antioxidants are necessary to neutralise damaging cells in the body. Astaxanthin, the most effective antioxidant, is included in antioxidants. It is 6000 times stronger than vitamin C. [4]  

Antarctica Krill Oil contains an extra 2mg of astaxanthin to make it more powerful and effective. Additionally, it helps in activating the internal sunscreen in our skin which helps against skin pigmentation.  

Apart from this, you should apply sunscreen every two-three hours to protect your skin from sun rays. Now you must be wondering, which sunscreen is best for you? A good sunscreen only contains 5-6 ingredients, the rest are fragrances which are harmful to your skin.   

Your sunscreen must include zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, because these substances stick to your skin and bounce the sun's rays off it. The best way to judge its presence in sunscreen is, it adds a whitish layer on your face. Which is actually good to protect your skin.  

Secondly, choose a sunscreen that is water resistant and not only UVA protected, but UVB protected as well and with a SPF of 30 as it blocks 97% of the UVB rays.  

Other ways to protect your skin from sun rays is to reduce your sun exposure. When you go out, try to avoid spending too much time in the direct sun by finding some sort of shade cover. Furthermore, cover yourself properly while going in the sun by using a hat to protect your skin from sun rays and sunglasses to protect your eyes and the skin around eyes from harmful rays. 

 

  

How to remove Pigmentation from face permanently at home naturally?  

Following are some of the home remedies for pigmentation you can try if you are looking for how to remove pigmentation from face permanently at home naturally. 

  • Apply Aloe Vera 

Aloe vera contains aloin, a naturally depigmenting substance that has been proven to lighten skin and to be an effective harmless skin pigmentation treatment. [5] Aloe vera will also help you hydrate your skin and keep it clear. 

Apply aloe vera gel to pigmented spots before going to bed. The next morning, rinse with warm water. Repeat this method every day until you see results. 

  • Apply Multani Mitti 

     

    Multani mitti can improve skin pigmentation. Multani mitti can help with tanning and pigmentation caused by the sun. [6] The cleansing qualities of Multani mitti work together to reduce tan marks and erase pigmentation, making the skin look brighter.  

    • Rub Green Tea on the Skin

    Thanks to its powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, Green tea can help in the treatment of hyperpigmentation by preventing the growth of extra melanin and removing dark patches. It is one of the effective home remedies for pigmentation and can also help with inflammatory skin diseases like acne, eczema, and psoriasis.   

    A green tea bag should be soaked in boiling water for five minutes. Take the teabag out of the water and let it cool. Rub the tea bag over the dark areas. Continue doing it twice daily until you see results.
